If you've never seen Falk's performance at the Frank Sinatra roast, you owe it to yourself to watch it. It's brilliant. The reference at the beginning is to a raincoat that was used on the cover of one of Frank's albums.

If you dig this sort of thing, the entire Sinatra roast is available on YouTube. I remember when these roasts were on TV, though I was too young at the time to understand what was so funny. Watching it now, in an age of packaged entertainment, quick cuts and sound bytes, I find it so refreshing to see people sitting and joking, live, often ad lib. It's brilliant. And damned funny.

Man I'm only 19 and I loved watching Columbo, I'm pretty sure they were reruns but I loved them just the same.

Good TV is good TV, whatever the era.

My grandfather and I always laugh whenever Columbo's car shows up on screen. No idea why but it leaves us giggling like mad.

According to the Wiki article, Peter Falk selected the car himself for the show. He managed to find a car that was as frumpy and disheveled as Columbo was.

That's genius, the car is exactly like Columbo with four wheels.
